The corporate benefit of climate change: escaping the blame

The Carbon Majors report (2017) found that 100 companies have been responsible for 71% of global emissions since 1998, with the highest emitting including Shell, BP, and Chevron. With this information publicly available, it raises the question of why the responsibility of reducing carbon emissions has been placed on the individuals rather than on the companies responsible.
