Coventry Blaze: 2021/22 schedule released as pre-season approaches

Danny Stewart’s Coventry Blaze will open their 2021/22 Elite Ice Hockey League campaign on home ice against the Fife Flyers on Saturday 25 September, with pre-season set to begin ten days earlier versus the Manchester Storm.

The long wait for ice hockey’s return to the West Midlands will end on Wednesday 15 September as Coventry host Manchester in the first leg of the Planet Ice Cup, with the return fixture scheduled to take place in Altrincham a week later.

On 18-19 September, the Blaze will meet the Guildford Flames in back-to-back Challenge Cup fixtures, with both sides also drawn to face the Cardiff Devils during the group phase

Boxing Day will see the Cardiff Devils travel to the City of Culture for a 17:30 face-off at the Skydome, while the Motorpoint Arena will provide the backdrop for Coventry’s New Years’ Eve celebrations as Stewart’s side face Tim Wallace’s Nottingham Panthers.

Following the turn of the year, Coventry will cross the Irish Sea to contest a double-header against the Belfast Giants on 29 and 30 January.

Coventry’s regular-season will end at home against the Glasgow Clan on Sunday 10 April, with Playoff Finals Weekend to be held on 23-24 April.
