Why you should join… Archery

As the Boar Sport continues to endeavour to shed a light on as many sport clubs as possible at Warwick, we hear from the Archery Club as to why they should top your wish lists.

What the club is:

The University of Warwick Archery Club (or UWAC) is an inclusive and friendly club where everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun of archery. We have training sessions every week as well as lots of socials including pool, scavenger hunts, pub crawls and more- so there really is something for everyone!

We compete at BUCS events, as well as within our regional league with nearby universities. There are chances for everyone to represent the University of Warwick, even as a complete beginner!

What are the best parts:

Archery is a great way to stay active and make new friends. You can be as competitive as you like or just treat it as a hobby. Either way, there is a real sense of team spirit in the club and everyone is always willing to help out.

Why newcomers should try it:

Have you ever wished you could be your very own Robin Hood or Katniss Everdeen? Well now you can! Come along to our free taster session on 28th September from 14:30-16:00 in Westwood Games Hall and have a go at sending some arrows down the range. If you catch the archery bug (which we’re sure you will!), you can then take part in a beginner’s course with equipment and coaching provided.
