Why you should join… Ultimate Frisbee

To start our second week of “Why you should join” content, we hear from the Ultimate Frisbee Club, telling us what makes them stand out.

Ultimate frisbee is one of the most exciting up-and-coming sports in the UK and at Warwick you have the opportunity to try it and see what it’s all about. The sport is a fast-paced, non-contact team game that involves aspects from different sports such as American football and netball. The objective of the game is to score by catching the disc in the other team’s endzone, and to do this involves team work, athleticism and skill.

There are casual sessions for those who want to have fun and be part of the club without playing competitively

The Ultimate frisbee club is one of the most welcoming and supportive clubs on campus. We welcome people of all ability- in fact most people that play start at university, so everyone starts at the same level and improves together. This is one of the reasons there is such a good family atmosphere around the club, as everyone gets better together with the guidance of the experienced members of the club who are all extremely friendly. You can also choose what type of club member you want to be. There are casual sessions for those who want to have fun and be part of the club without playing competitively and there are also plenty of more advanced sessions if you want to be a competitive player and play for the club in BUCS games against other universities. We also run many socials and do lots of different things together as a club outside of the Ultimate frisbee  which anyone is welcome to come along to and if you do you will become part of the Warwick Bears family very quickly!

We hope to see as many new people as possible this coming year to grow and improve our club!
