The next SU President is Isaac Leigh

The results are in and the new Students’ Union (SU) president for 2015 – 2016 is Isaac Leigh, former Societies Officer at the SU.

Mr Leigh successfully beat candidates Andy King, Daniel Goss and Stanley Todd. Mr Leigh was the only candidate with former experience working as a sabbatical officer.

With the campaign slogan, ‘Making your voice louder’, Mr Leigh’s main manifesto points included pushing for student to be refunded for late buses, improving communication with the vice-chancellor and ensuring a Fresher’s Week free of lectures and seminars.

In addition Mr Leigh promised to make the Copper Rooms more about Pop and Skool Dayz and better communications of the benefits that the Sport Review is providing for sport at Warwick.

Mr Leigh’s president stated: “My experience as an officer means you can trust me to stand up for you. It would be a privilege to make sure your voice is heard over such an exciting year ahead.”

The role of President involves liaising with the University, representing the Union and its members in committee meetings and campaigning on student issues.
