Hello sunshine, hello exams

For the first time this year the sun has come out. You thought British
weather was just bad, but no, its worse than that, its good when you want
it to be bad. British weather operates under the principles of Sod’s Law.
Just as the pressure of third term exams and essay nightmares kick in,
the weather has decided to take a turn for the better and grace us with
some sunshine. Welcome to term three, the final round of the relentless
game entitled ‘Student vs. Life’.

With the arrival of summer, essay hell has taken over, with deadlines
looming and the impending days of exam and revision torture on the
horizon. You may feel that you are neck deep in work and exam pressure.
But do not despair. The Boar is here to help you through this time of
gloom and melancholy.

We can point you towards the fun side of term three. Time to enjoy an ice
cold cider on the grass, improve your tan and spend hours soaking up the
rays, all whilst flicking through notes on a lecture you slept through.
Sun and exams are not the only things on offer. This final term brings
with it so many things. An election (if you hadn’t noticed), the World Cup
and of course the Union’s Six Days of Summer. Time to unwind and let your
hair down amid the hustle and bustle of the busiest term in the university
calendar.

The Boar questions who decided to place the biggest football tournament in
the world right in the middle of the busiest term of the year. It provides
us with the perfect excuse to procrastinate. But what would summer be
without a big sporting event, take the time out and see if you can hold
your nerve as England battle their way through the World Cup?
Once the final aches and pains of exams and pressure are over, the Union
are also bringing together a number of huge acts and providing you with
behemothic amounts of fun and games to help you to celebrate the end of
another year at Warwick. The Six Days of Summer is the Union’s way to
congratulate you for making it this far, and to give you chance to let off
some of the steam after a difficult
few months.

It’s time to suspend your Facebook account for a while; the deadlines this
term are when the Red Bull behind the “break glass in emergency” box on
your wall is taken out and consumed. So don’t give up, keep in mind that
summer will be amazing, but don’t daydream about it. You’re nearly there.
