Why you should join… Latin and Ballroom
In the fourth instalment of the renewed “Why you should join” series, we hear from Latin and Ballroom about what makes them the club for you.
Have you ever wanted to know how to dance like on “Strictly Come Dancing”? If so, then Warwick Latin and Ballroom is the club for you! We are one of the most fun and friendly clubs on campus, and we aim to ensure that every member feels welcomed.
We have classes to suit all abilities, with beginner, novice and intermediate groups. We also have a fitness class, as well as an open routines class, where you can learn a wide variety of different dances. If you join Latin and Ballroom, you will have the option to compete regularly, and although this is not compulsory, it is a great way to improve your dancing- and is also one of the most fun ways to spend one day of your weekend.
We have many performance opportunities, such as performing alongside other Warwick dance clubs in Pizazz dance show
The main competition of the year is Nationals, where we spend the weekend at Blackpool. We also go on an international tour, once per year; last year we went to Lloret de Mar, in Spain. If you don’t fancy coming away with Latin and Ballroom to socialise, we have regular socials throughout the year, including circling and Pop, nights out, meals out and also non-alcoholic socials.
In addition to all of this, we have many performance opportunities, such as performing alongside other Warwick dance clubs in Pizazz dance show, as well as performing in our club’s very own charity Strictly competition. We also have frequent Guest Workshops, where experienced dancers and coaches come in to give us their tips and tricks!
