Why you should join… the Trampoline Club
In the third piece in our renewed “Why you should join” series, the folks at the University of Warwick Trampoline Club tell us what sets them apart.
Did you know that research has shown that 10 minutes of sustained jumping on a trampoline burns off as many calories as running? Not only will you burn calories faster, but as an indoor sport we don’t have to deal with mud, rain or snow! We run 2-3 hour sessions 3 times a week where we muck around, practise and train on club-owned trampolines, often listening to music from our club speaker.
We hold regular socials, circling to Pop! at least 3 times a term, holding Adoptions in Term 1 for new joiners of the club
We don’t care what level of physical ability you start at when you join, our qualified coaches are happy to take you through your first steps (and bounces) as you learn not only how to jump, tuck and barani, but also how to set up and take down equipment, take part in inter-university competitions and even sign up for courses where you can learn how to coach others.
And it’s not just all fun and games on the beds either! We hold regular socials, circling to Pop! at least 3 times a term, holding Adoptions in Term 1 for new joiners of the club, visiting the trampoline park in Leamington or going bowling, and organising a week-long trip somewhere mysterious for our fabulous tour during Easter.
You should join the Trampoline Club not just for all of these great reasons, but also because we are one of the most inclusive clubs on campus. Anyone and everyone is welcome, regardless of ability (just ask our Exec!). So why not come jump on our beds? See you soon!
