Coffee House Sessions come to Warwick University

Fancy seeing the UK’s hottest up and coming artists perform at the edge of your mug, every week…. for free? Look no further! Coffee House Sessions is the UK’s largest daytime touring platform, shifting live music venues away from alcohol towards a more accessible environment. Built around performances in student union coffee shops and bars around the UK, it’s the only live PR tour of its kind, delivering exposure to influential tastemakers during dedicated afternoon showcases.

For us Warwick students, that comes in the form of our favourite campus coffee house: Curiositea. Every Thursday from 4.30pm, Curiositea turns into a buzz of excited students and media societies, working together to preserve the thrill of live music and to foster Warwick’s own creative community. Coffee House Sessions has always been about identifying talent, whether that be the best new DJs, musicians, presenters – even amongst students. The likes of Sam Darlaston (Kiss FM), Jack Saunders (Radio X) and Abbie McCarthy (BBC Introducing Kent & BBC Radio 1) received their first break after covering Coffee House Sessions.

Coffee House Sessions offers a stripped back, acoustic take on genres ranging from rock and pop to rap and hip-hop, presenting something new each week. As well as helping to launch artists such as Izzy Bizu, Tom Walker, Seafret, Hudson Taylor, Ady Suleiman, Gavin James, and The Shires, Warwick SU provides support slots every week for homegrown Warwick talent to showcase their work. New amazing bands and artists are coming each week so why not come by and be that friend who can say “I liked them before they were cool”? To hear more just come to Curiositea from 4.30 and enjoy the show!
