Meet the science societies: WMS

Whether you’re studying maths and want an easy way to meet your course-mates, need some extra help with your degree, or want a way to relax and socialise, Warwick Maths Soc is the society for you. Just pick and choose from what we have to offer!

With over 700 members each year, we are an active yet friendly and approachable society. For those interested in the academic side we have weekly talks (with added pizza!) revealing some of the exciting maths out there, such as from GCHQ, to revision and assignment help during our weekly Maths Café. We can even help with scoring you discounted revision guides. Not to mention our mentor scheme where you can be assigned an older student to help make your studies a little bit easier. There’s even the possibility of getting involved in interuniversity competitions, and chances to meet with other Mathematics societies.

Our main aim is to provide exciting opportunities and fun filled socials to help you relax after a long day of lectures, whilst our fantastic academic team help you get the grades you deserve…

Perhaps you’re more interested in a way to relax after those days of lectures. If this is the case, then join us for one of our socials. We host regular board game nights and society puzzle trails around campus in family-themed socials. We host ‘Women in Maths’ coffee mornings, who have held sessions including yoga, cocktail making and mental wellbeing events.  There have been a plethora of other socials in the past, such as meals, laser tag, circling (yes it’s not just for sports societies), themed bar crawls and nights out. As you can see, there is plenty to get involved in! We even have our own sports teams which are open for anyone to join. And of course, we cannot forget our annual summer BBQ (which had over 200 attendees last year) and our WMS ball!
