Disco Dave/Colin Candy no longer to play Kelsey’s

Disco Dave will no longer be playing Kelsey’s on Monday nights after a Boar article linked his alter ego (DJ Colin Candy) with his POP persona.

Disco Dave (real name Colin Hutcheon) told a Boar journalist: “there’s been some sort of mix up regarding that gig as I am NOT playing there at all. Disco Dave had nothing to do with this event in any way.”

“I am not playing there,” he said. “I was offered but I am not [going to] because Disco Dave was mentioned to be there by media [the Boar] and under no circumstances was that to happen.

“It was a Colin Candy gig and not a Disco Dave gig! [I am] no longer interested or involved.”

When asked whether it was a secret that he was Disco Dave, he replied: “No one knows who Disco Dave is!!!”

This journalist then advised him that his public Facebook profile provided more than enough evidence to counteract that claim.

He responded: “True, but I don’t advertise the fact like you guys do. [Disco Dave] is a Warwick Students’ Union act only.”

Kelsey’s have changed the event on Facebook, and Monday will now be hosted by Craig Cut Up Jones.
