Why you should join Warwick Wolves

You probably won’t have tried American Football before coming to university, so why not give it a go? As Warwick Wolves Communications Secretary Charlie Coe explains, it’s definitely worth it…

We welcome everyone, regardless of playing ability or experience

We’re an open and inclusive team, welcome to anyone who wants to try out our club. Many members of our team had never played American Football before coming to Warwick and you could follow in their footsteps. With options to play the sport at an amateur level still relatively few and far between in this country, this could be your chance to shine!

You could be competing for a place in the lineup straight away

Unlike more traditional sports we don’t have second or third teams, so everyone competes for starting lineup spots immediately. By the time the season gets underway, many of our rookie recruits are already making an impact on the field – even those who have just started playing the sport for the first time.

Playing American Football is a great way to improve your fitness

Whether you’re trying to become more lean, bulky or just generally improve your fitness level, we can help you achieve your goals. We hold gym sessions for each positional group, so you can target your particular goals while playing a competitive sport at the same time.

You will be joining a successful team

In the last two seasons we have lost just three games out of 17 and are vying for promotion to the top tier of the BUCS pyramid. You could be part of our rise to the top of the game!

We put on some unique socials

From our team thanksgiving dinner in Leamington to our annual Superbowl party in the Warwick Students Union, you’ll get the opportunity to be a part of some awesome American-style socials. The thanksgiving meal is certainly not one to miss, as you get to eat mountains of food while watching the NFL on TV!
