Treat yo’ self! A post-exam to do list

Now that term is almost over and you are officially free from the struggles of deadlines and exams, here is a to do list that will help you have a relaxing and indulgent summer…

 

1) Binge

In all senses of the word. Eat what you want, drink what you want, and buy what you want. Wine and dine yourself with extravagance and class: venture out and go to all the restaurants, pubs, clubs, bars etc. that you’ve been putting off going to because of exams.

I know your student loan is probably fading away quicker than Kerry Katona’s career post Atomic Kitten, but you’ll soon be back home under the safe roof of your parents who will feed you, wash your clothes, and generally support you through your bankruptcy. So take this time to spend all your government cash and celebrate the end of the academic year.

2) Ensnare bae

Remember that person whose attention you’ve been trying to get because they’re a 10/10 who could spice up your life? Grab the bull by the horns and message them. They have no essays, no exams, no presentations, no excuses.

A friend recently told me that Facebook messenger is the best medium because the read receipts let you know at the exact moment they’ve read your message, so you know the exact minute they snaked your basic ass. It isn’t psychopathic; it’s savvy, right…?

3) Book a holiday

It doesn’t have to be a five star luxury resort in Dubai with marble floors and a pool filled with Fiji water (although if you have that sort of cash, I applaud and envy you) for a holiday to be Lifestyle-approved fabulous.

You can get surprisingly cheap deals, even when you book late. Last year, me and my housemates booked a five-day trip to Paris just a week in advance; our travel (ten hour bus – not as grim as it sounds, by the way) and accommodation (Generator Hostel…would certainly recommend!) came to a mere £120.  Fiscal yet fabulous.

4) Sleep

Remember all those caffeine-fuelled, maddening all-nighters, and those painful early mornings to make your 9am lecture/seminar? Well, they’ve taken their toll on you throughout the year and at this point, the best thing you can do is treat yo self to a much deserved extended slumber.

University is probably the only time in your life when you will have such a big gap between work, so take advantage of it and snooze to your heart’s content.
