Warwick among the top 50 in the world for ten subjects

The QS World University Rankings by Subject have recently been published.

Amongst the rankings, Warwick has featured in the top 50 for a total of ten of its subjects. A total of twenty subjects have made the top 100. This continues from last year, when Warwick also had ten subjects in the top 50.

The rankings are based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.

The following subjects feature in the top 50: English Language & Literature, History, Business & Management Studies, Economics, Modern Languages, Mathematics, Sociology, Statistics (& Operational Research), Accounting & Finance and Politics & International Studies.

When asked if there will be a push for improvement in subjects that did not make the top 50, Peter Dunn, director of press and policy, commented that focus is placed on doing “well in measures that are most important to students”, including the National Student Survey and funding in areas such as the Research Excellence Framework.

“If we also do well in other global league tables that is a welcome bonus.”
