Potter fans, rejoice! Eighth Harry Potter book to be published in July

[dropcap]L[/dropcap]ittle, Brown Book Group tweeted on 10 February 10 that they will be publishing the script of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I and II in July.

After the publication of the seven bestselling Harry Potter books, which have sold over 450 million copies in 79 languages worldwide, fans were devastated when the saga ended. The last book was written in 2007 and, once the film adaptation was released, it was undoubtedly the end of an era.

Fans were devastated when the saga ended…

However, J.K Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany wrote an original new story to be played on the stage, titled The Cursed Child Parts I and II, telling of the adventures of Harry as a Ministry of Magic employee and his son, Albus, nineteen years after the Battle of Hogwarts.

Officially the eighth story in the Harry Potter series, the play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End, on 31 July  (Harry Potter’s birthday).

Potterheads can get their hands on book once its published at 00.01 on 31 July, the day after the play’s first performance. There is also the option of a digital version, and rumours that there could be a definitive collector’s edition that would come out later in the year.

David Shelley, CEO of Little, Brown Book Group, stated: “J.K. Rowling and her team have received a huge number of appeals from fans who can’t be in London to see the play and who would like to read the play in book format – and so we are absolutely delighted to be able to make it available for them.”

Not only that, but 2017 will be an amazing year for devoted readers as J.K Rowling has announced the publication of four special editions (one for each Hogwarts house) of the first book of the saga for its twentieth anniversary.
