Gatecrasher to re-open as Pryzm

Birmingham’s Gatecrasher nightclub is to re-open as a new club called Pryzm.

The club, which recently lost its licence due to a number of violent incidents, is set to re-open on Tuesday 1 March under a new name and new owners.

The new opening could be a part of the chain of clubs which are already established in Bristol, Cardiff, Brighton, Leeds and Kingston-upon-Thames.

The Deltic Group who are refurbishing the venue promise to provide “world-class entertainment and premium service.”

Sophie Dudhill was not impressed with the former Gatecrasher venue, she commented: “the smoking area consisted of a ten minute walk with neon signs along the way telling you that you were killing yourself, it was not what you want on a night out.”

Blessing Mukosha Park was also not keen on Gatecrasher being re-opened as Pryzm. She told the Boar that another Pryzm venue should not be built.
