Shazia Mirza is an award winning stand-up comedian from Birmingham, returning to the Midlands this February with her new show The Kardashians Made Me Do It. Described by the Birmingham Post as “break[ing] new ground in comedy”, this edgy comedian is a must-see for those seeking alternative comedy. Coming to The Royal Spa Centre in Leamington Spa on February 27th.

The Circus of Horrors

With its claim of being the only circus act ever to reach the finals of Britain’s Got Talent, the Circus of Horrors is indeed a unique experience. The show follows a young girl following her dream to run away to the circus, a dream which becomes a nightmare when she finds herself in the decrepit, corpse-ridden CarnEvil. Coming to the Alexandra in Birmingham on March 6th.

Motionhouse

This leading UK dance company are currently touring with their fourth UK show Broken, to swathes of positive reviews. The show examines humanity’s precarious relationship with the earth, combining a thrilling narrative with incredible set design, amazing music and stunning digital imagery, creating a universally enjoyable and thought-provoking show. Coming to Warwick Arts Centre on February 4th and 5th.

Pizazz

The University of Warwick’s biggest annual dance showcase is back! Organised by the Warwick Tap exec, Pizazz showcases the university’s last year in dance, from Classical to Modern Dance. Whether you want to see belly dancing, break dancing or Irish dancing, this exciting collaboration is sure to be enjoyed by all. Coming to The Royal Spa Centre in Leamington on February 8th.

Colin Cloud: Forensic Mind Reader

Brain science, magic and Sherlock Holmes mixed into one; meet Colin Cloud, Forensic Mind Reader. Off the back of 23 sell-out Edinburgh shows and a host of 5 star reviews, Colin Cloud is touring with his latest mind reading act, entertaining and shocking audiences alike. Check out this wacky and wonderful show at the Royal Spa Centre in Leamington on January 29th.

Bryony Kimmings

Blending reality and fiction is a specialty of Bryony Kimmings, an exciting and outrageous live artist from London, whose previous work includes tracing the origins of an STI. Fake It Til You Make It puts her relationship with advertising manager Tim, who is clinically depressed, firmly under the microscope. Both funny and wickedly warming, see this at Warwick Arts Centre 17-19 March.

Posh

The Riot Club lives by one idea: “carpe some fucking diem”. Laura Wade’s play Posh stormed the London theatre scene when it first appeared in 2010. This New Year, WUDS bring us their gender blind version of this fantastic play about decadence, depravity and debauchery in the Oxbridge dinner societies. Coming to Warwick Arts Centre 10-13 Feburary.

Forced Entertainment

Set during World War 2, Forced Entertainment’s new production The Notebook tells the story of a pair of twin brothers evacuated to their impoverished grandmother’s farm in order to shelter from the conflict. Based on the award winning novel by Ágota Kristóf and directed by Tim Etchells, this is sure to be a challenging production, weaving dark and subversive humour from wartime hardships. See at Warwick Arts Cenrre 8-9 March.

Birmingham Royal Ballet

This year the Ballet celebrates the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. This celebration starts with Ashton double bill, including two one-act ballets. The Dream, based on A Midsummer Night’s Dream and A Month in the Country. Coming to Birmingham Hippodrome from 17-20 February. Kenneth MacMillan’s classic adaption of Romeo and Juliet returns 24-27 February.

Anything Goes

All aboard the SS American this February as MTW present Anything Goes. This complicated love story is ser on an ocean liner in the 1930s, with mistaken identities, gangsters and tap dancing. It is both hilarious and heart-warming. If MTW’s previous shows are anything to go by this is not one to miss. Coming to the Warwick Arts Centre 24-27 Februrary.

Macbeth

Something wicked this way comes. An intriguing take on Shakespeare’s Macbeth makes it’s way to the Birmingham Repertory Theatre from 26-30 January. Directors Carrie Cracknell and Lucy Guerin merge the ultimate supernatural tragedy with unnerving choreography, that pervades and disrupts throughout the modernized production. Staring John Heffernan and Anna Maxwell Martin. Toil and trouble ensue.

Ed Byrne

Mock the week regular, Ed Byrne, brings his hit show Outside Looking In to the eager stage of the Warwick Arts Centre on the 16th of February. His reputation precedes him with five star reviews from the Sunday Times. Byrne is a prominent face in a host of comedic talent for 2016 at the Arts Centre. This show is not to be missed.
