Game of Thrones’ Hodor returns to Copper Rooms

He may have been missing from the last season of Game of Thrones, but Hodor is back on the Copper Rooms stage.

The famous one-line character from the hit TV show has become an unlikely DJ sensation, having toured university freshers up and down the country for the last few years, and even venturing overseas on a world tour to America and Singapore.

In his second year running at the Copper Rooms, Kristian Nairn’s (a.ka. Hodor’s) event sold out within days of tickets going on sale, becoming one of the SU favourites, along with the regulars: Hall Wars, POP! and Crash.

Ignoring the efforts of the warm-up DJ, students regularly called out for the man of the night throughout the evening, shouting both his name and catchphrase to try and entice him onto the stage.

Eventually he emerged to huge excitement just after midnight, and continued to entertain the packed Copper Rooms 1 for the next two hours with his personal mix of house and bass.

With Game of Thrones returning for a new series that will include the return of his much-loved character, perhaps we will see Nairn grace our stage again at next year’s Freshers Fortnight.
