Oliver Rice has been elected as DDO for 2015/16

Oliver Rice, a fourth-year Politics, Philosophy and Economics student, has been been elected as the Students’ Union’s (SU) new Democracy and Development officer.

Mr Rice is currently the chair of the SU’s student council.

His manifesto included promises to build a better democracy, holding buses to account and facilitating the implementation of a living wage for SU employees.

Mr Rice won with a total of 1719  votes. He beat Katie Bergstrom, who came in second place with 1494 votes.
