Attack at Leamington’s Spicy Bites takeaway shop

Two men caused commotion in Leamington Spa takeaway house Spicy Bites, in the early morning of Sunday 18 October.

The men in question were reportedly inhibited and became aggressive after being refused immediate service by staff.

A Warwick student witnessing the event recalled, “everything was fine and then one of them started kicking off, and with that one of the chefs threatens him with the salt shaker and tongs.”

Action reached a climax as one man began to threaten one of the chefs and brandished a chair which broke a window. Damages caused by the night’s ruckus have reportedly totalled somewhere in the region of thirteen hundred pounds.

The proprietor of Spicy Bites reflected, “This is the first incident we’ve had of this nature since we’ve been here; I have not asked for compensation.”

“I was extremely surprised, we try our best to look after all our customers and also require that level of respect.”

Police have the man responsible in custody who reportedly apologised to the owner for his actions.
