Warwick people receive titles

**Several people with close ties to Warwick have received titles in the Queen’s Honours List for 2013.**

A former intelligence analyst for the United States Central Intelligence Agency and holder of an honorary doctorate from the University, DeAnne Julius, was made a Dame for services to international relations, while former University Council Member, Penny Egan, was awarded a CBE for her services to international education.

The services to business of Richard Wilding earned him an OBE. Wilding graduated from Warwick in 1998 with a PhD in Engineering, and now works as Professor of Supply Chain Strategy at Cranfield School of Management, based near Milton Keynes.

A further OBE was awarded to Moses Anibaba for services to UK cultural interests in West Africa. Director of the British Council in Ghana, Anibaba has given crucial support to the Warwick in Africa programme.

The programme lends support to gifted students in Ghana, South Africa and Tanzania, benefitting around 120,000 to date.

Denys Shortt was awarded an OBE for services to the economy in the West Midlands. A Board member at Warwick Business School, Shortt commented: “I am absolutely delighted and proud to receive this honour.

“Britain is a great place to build a business and I am delighted that entrepreneurship is recognised within the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list”.
