Warwick Students’ Union (SU) has received an apology from Wiley’s agency after [the rapper’s noshow
on Thursday October 11](https://theboar.org/news/2012/oct/12/whiney-wiley-su-no-show/).

Rob Chamberlain, SU Entertainment Officer said the agency had done their job properly and were
not at fault.

He said: “We have received an apology from Wiley’s agency and as far as I’m concerned, this is all on the conscience of Wiley himself. It had nothing to do with the people who represent him and I am satisfied with the way they have conducted themselves.”

The rapper told members of Warwick SU that he had been involved in a car crash. However, he later denied this on Twitter, instead saying he had ‘jetlag’.

He then posted a series of abusive messages to students who complained on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/EskiDance).

Wiley appeared at London’s Ministry of Sound nightclub later on Thursday evening, where he
performed a set.

A statement on the SU website has said that Wiley’s show will not be rescheduled.

It said: “This is not the way we conduct business here at the Students’ Union, and in our many
years of running gigs, events and shows, we have never seen a response as unprofessional as that offered by Wiley on his Twitter in the wake of the announcement.”

The SU has promised a refund to everyone who purchased a ticket, but asked students to be patient as
they worked out the “logistics” of such a large reimbursement.

For those holding a Fresher’s Pass, the SU will extend the validity of the pass for Pressure featuring Sub Focus (Week 3), ‘The Exchange’ (Week 4), and Flashback (Week 7) for free, as “a gesture of goodwill”. The three events are equivalent to the value of a Wiley ticket.
