Forget EP

Last year’s EP and stunning, understated slot on Later… announced La Havas’ velveteen voice and talent for songcraft to the world. Riding high on a wave of buzz, she is set to release this slight but sweet collection which demonstrates her pop star credentials. Apart from ‘Gone’, a piano-plus-voice Adelesque heartbreak ballad, there’s a refreshing sense of playfulness throughout this EP, notably on the defiant, immediate ‘Forget’ and its genre-flipping rework. Current and elegant, this is the jazz/soul formula like you’ve never heard before.
