University offer £200 to take part in survey
Warwick University and the Students’ Union (SU) are encouraging all eligible students to take
part in the 2011 National Student Survey by offering a £200 prize.
The survey, organised by independent market research company Ipsos-MORI, is open to
final-year undergraduates and some part-time undergraduates who are not in their final
year.
The results are posted online to help future students decide where they would like to study.
The University said the survey is “regarded nationally as the primary measure of finalist
student satisfaction.”
Warwick enters participants into a free prize-draw with a top prize of £200 as an
incentive to encouragement to complete the survey. The University last year awarded prizes to
seven, randomly selected winners.
The SU’s Education Officer Sean Ruston described the survey as “invaluable” and said it
was “increasingly important as fees go up.
“It informs the league tables in the _Times_ and the _Guardian_ which determine funding,
opportunities and the number of students Warwick can have so it’s really important. It‘s
the only reliable national survey [of universities].”
He added that issues are often dealt with if any department or area scores particularly
badly and therefore benefits future students greatly.
The survey can be completed online and is “strictly confidential“ according to Ipsos-MORI. Students who do not complete the survey online will be sent a paper survey to complete or, if that is not completed, be asked to complete it by telephone.
