Rumours of nightclub’s closure prove unfounded

Rumours are rife suggesting that popular Leamington nightclub Smack is to close on April 10th, with an event ‘Smack: The End’, outraging many students.

Claims have included that the owners of the premises wish to turn the popular venue into offices. However, officials maintain this closure is solely for a major refurbishment, with a reopening event planned for April 17th, 2010. This comes after the club won the Smirnoff Beda award for best interior design in 2007.

Plans are to include a refurbishment of both floors and staff claim they are “blown away by the design drawings”.
