Final Fling a big success

The event of the year in some eyes, this year’s Final Fling was a hit with students.

The performances by Basement Jaxx, the Pidgeon Detectives and others all received high praise from students there. One student explained that Basement Jaxx was perfect for the Fling because even if you didn’t know their music it was fun and loud.

The firework show drew students out of the various tents and marquees and, despite some complaining of getting ash on their hair and faces, had students clapping.

There were a number of funfair rides which had long lines going in and many smiling faces coming out. The silent disco was another popular attraction.

The rain stayed away but the night soon got very cold.

Drink prices were seen as being surprisingly high.
