Union offer cash for being part of focus group

A focus group which will ask students how satisfied they are with the Warwick email system has had to be postponed due to insufficient student turnout.

As an incentive, students will be offered ten pounds to attend the group, in the hope that this will attract enough students to take part.

The Students’ Union hope this will help to bolster numbers at otherwise underattended events such as this one.

A lack of student participation frequently haunts Union events where attendance numbers have been low of recent months.

The Union was going to hold the focus group in order to find out whether the system meets the needs of all students and are reviewing whether it needs to be altered or not.

Mike Pidgeon, the Union’s Communications Officer, commented on how he wanted to get a “diverse” range of voices such as undergrad, postgrad, international, mature and oversees students in order to find out whether the email system works for the wide range of students who attend the university.

The focus group has been rescheduled for February 4, at 4pm.
