Internet sets back Warwick Jump

Due to an internet malfunction, Warwick Skydiving mistakenly believed they had sold out of all their 250 places for the Great Warwick Jump, but actually only 160 deposits were taken.

They also suffered through an eleven hour period last Thursday night where the server was down and students were unable to sign-up. The payment system has only worked for a period of 10 hours since Nick Ellison and Robert Smith, Chairmen of the event, held an information session for the event last Thursday.

The Great Warwick Jump generated much interest this year, with 400 people initially expressing their interest by signing-up online. With only 250 places available, there were many disappointed students when the event was believed to be sold out.

Nick Ellison said, “It’s something of a lottery as to whether the remaining 240 people will secure one of the 90 remaining spaces – entirely depends on when it’s fixed. In the meanwhile – we’re kinda pissed off and stuck.”
