The start of a new year can bring, for many, uncertainty, whether that be with the changing of goals or the pressure to modify and reinvent ourselves. Through his podcast, Psychology Unplugged, clinical psychologist Dr Corey Nigro allows us to look into the wonderful world of psychology and the brain for a better understanding of ourselves and others. His focus on topics of change can bring an overwhelming feeling to a straightforward and comprehensible level.

This deep dive into the workings of the brain, led by our psychology specialist, gives us a glimpse into the roots of behaviours and disorders, breaking them down for his audience.

Beginning in 2021, Psychology Unplugged has aimed to explore the stigmatisation surrounding mental health and attempts to open up the topic of issues, including BPD, anxiety, etc., to a wider audience. Because of this, his unique touch and psychology are able to be relatable to all, opening up a new world of science that you never thought you needed.

It’s easy to feel swept up in the chaotic competition of self improvement. This podcast gives us a chance to take a break and work on that smaller improvement; a greater understanding of others allows for better compassion for ourselves.
