Warwick named International Institution of the Year by UKCISA

On 19 November 2025, The University of Warwick was named the International Institution of the Year by the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) at their first #WeAreInternational Awards in London.

The UKCISA is a national charity that supports and advocates for international students, providing them with advice and guidance about the issues that affect them. The prestigious award was highly contested, with Warwick being one of 420 nominations from 120 different institutions considered.

The UKCISA was particularly impressed by Warwick’s recent ‘One World Warwick‘ campaign, which, as part of the university’s 60th anniversary programme, celebrates and improves its commitment to global outreach and engagement. The initiative has been remarkably successful, reaching more than 5,500 participants across 23 countries and bestowing nearly £1 million in scholarships to students from 33 nationalities.

This award is a testament to the hard work of our Warwick community. It showcases our dedication to student inclusion, world-class education and research.

Warwick’s leadership team have displayed immense pride at being recognised as the Institution of the Year: Professor Michael Scott, Pro-Vice Chancellor (International) of the University of Warwick, said that the award “reflects our commitment to build an inclusive global campus community” and demonstrates how the university’s “diverse global community of students, staff and alumni [are] at its heart.”

The Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Warwick, Professor Stuart Croft, shared a similar opinion, saying that “this award is a testament to the hard work of our Warwick community. It showcases our dedication to student inclusion, world-class education and research.” He continued by sharing that Warwick will continue “leading the way and shaping the future on a global stage.”

Anne Marie Graham, the Chief Executive of UKCISA, commented that the award showcases “the people and partnerships that make the UK a leader in international education”, with Warwick’s recognition centring them in this endeavour by highlighting their excellence in leadership, inclusivity, and innovation.
