Doriane Pin seals F1 Academy title in Las Vegas
Over the Las Vegas weekend, Doriane Pin was able to claim the F1 Academy title, closing the fifteen-point gap and beating Maya Weug in the season’s final race.
The 21-year-old Mercedes driver needed to finish in the top six of Race Two to take the title home following her win in Saturday’s reserve-grid race as the Ferrari driver crashed in the formational lap.
She concluded her race in fifth place, finishing fifteen points ahead of Weug in the standings and claiming victory for the season with 172 points and concluding her second year in single-seater racing.
The French driver is the first woman to win the ‘Revelation of the Year’ Award
Pin is the third champion of the wholly female series, following Marta Garcia in 2023 and Abbi Pulling in 2024 who beat Pin to first in her rookie season.
Following her race, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff, in addition to drivers George Russel and Kimi Antonelli joined Pin to celebrate her race win.
She exclaimed that “I worked so hard for this with the team. They have been part of my success since day one when we joined Mercedes and joined single-seater racing in 2024.
“We worked only to be champion, so really happy to work with them to achieve amazing things together.”

The French driver is the first woman to win the ‘Revelation of the Year’ Award and has continued to show her talent throughout the 2025 season, claiming four wins and eight podiums – fighting hard with Maya Weug and Alba Larsen to declare herself victorious.
“Since the very first time I got in a go-kart, I wanted to win every single race I competed in. I’m very happy about my entire journey, and obviously my journey with F1 ACADEMY has been unforgettable. I’m very proud of all of this, and now we can celebrate it.”
F1 Academy kickstarted in 2023 to provide opportunities for women in motorsports, embarking on a mission to increase the quantity of female drivers. With the sport mainly being associated with male domination and championships, Doriane Pin’s win is one of many instances showcasing the outstanding capability of women in motorsport. The recognition of such talent is so important and shows the extensive progression the sport has taken to be more representative of such prevalent talent.
