Warwick reward active lifestyles with new tech partnership
Warwick staff and students can now access a new fitness reward scheme powered by a world-leading tech company.
Since September, those working or studying at Warwick can benefit from discounts with notable sports brands, including Adidas, Nike, and Fitbit, by taking part in Warwick Sport activities.
The Warwick Sport App allows these users to unlock rewards as they participate in physical activity at Warwick, including at the Sports and Wellness Hub. Rewards are tiered in Bronze, Silver, and Gold categories whereby the more physical activity you partake in, the greater the prize.
One in three men and 42% of women are not active enough for good health, research shows. This physical inactivity is costing the UK £7.4bn annually and is responsible for one in six deaths.
With the cost of living continuing to be a major worry for students, the University’s partnership with Endurance Zone can help students and staff improve their physical health and mental wellbeing without breaking the bank
Endurance Zone is one of the market leaders in reward platforms built for organisations with physically active consumers, like those at the University of Warwick.
The fitness company serves tens of millions of users globally. Chief Commercial Officer Peter Preston called the partnership “fantastic”. It aims to help drive positive health and fitness behaviours across campus.
The company is looking to expand further across UK universities and spread the benefits of exercise to tens of thousands nationwide.
With the cost of living continuing to be a major worry for students, the University’s partnership with Endurance Zone can help students and staff improve their physical health and mental wellbeing without breaking the bank. The Rock Up and Play initiative is one example of how free initiatives can be greatly beneficial, with 3,800 students and staff enjoying the scheme over the past year.
