We’ve launched a podcast: Hogging the Mic is live now!
In The Boar’s latest step forward, we’ve decided to launch a new podcast, Hogging the Mic, paying tribute to the long legacy and history of our society.
In fact, it launched today (August 14), so don’t hesitate to give it a listen!
We’ll be bringing the wisdom of our alumni and society members right to you, whether you’re on holiday, on your commute, or somewhere entirely different.
Hosted by Rachel Gore, Tom Ryan, and Lucy Gibbons – a friendship trio borne out of the SPA Awards – these episodes will represent the heart of the society
With two exciting episodes in the first two weeks and fortnightly episodes to follow, we’ve got lots lined up for you.

Hogging the Mic, our new podcast, launches today!
Hosted by Rachel Gore, Tom Ryan, and Lucy Gibbons – a friendship trio borne out of the SPA Awards – these episodes will represent the heart of the society.
Rachel will head up the Sports segment, highlighting a great writer and their article every two weeks. Tom will take on that role for the News section, and Lucy will cover culture news and articles.

Your hosts: Lucy Gibbons, Rachel Gore, and Tom Ryan
We’ll then have a special guest every episode – a Warwick alum – who your hosts will interview to find out about the route they took after university, their time at The Boar, and other fun titbits!
Speaking of, we’ll introduce you to our final member of the team, Beth Sirianni, who has taken on the role of Head of digital media – hi, yes, it’s me, writing this!
Here’s a few clues to our first special guest, who will feature in episode two next week, on Thursday, August 21:
- Their first role at The Boar was as a Cartoonist
- Their most written for section was the Sport section
- They achieved the infamous ‘Whole Hog’!
Have you got any guesses? Let us know in the comments, or by sending us a direct message to our Instagram @HoggingTheMic.
