Arsenal Women set to play all WSL home games at the Emirates next season
Arsenal Women will play all 11 Barclays WSL home matches at Emirates Stadium in the 2025/26 season. The move aims to “reaffirm N5 as the main home of Arsenal Women”, after nine of the 11 WSL games were played at the Emirates during the 2024/25 season.
Arsenal’s first WSL game at the Emirates was played in 2012, but it wasn’t until the 2022/23 season when they began the full transition from Meadow Park in Borehamwood. Meadow Park has a maximum capacity of 4,500 and is currently home to Borehamwood F.C. and Arsenal’s youth teams. Though the Emirates is now considered the home of Arsenal Women, some of their games are still played in Borehamwood.
Arsenal’s average attendance in the WSL across the 2024/25 season was 34,110
The season following England’s historic win on home soil in the Women’s EUROs was marked by a significant increase in WSL attendances. Arsenal played three WSL fixtures at the Emirates in 2022/23, breaking the league’s attendance record in the process (47,376 fans watched Arsenal beat Tottenham 4-0 in September 2022). All five home games in the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) were also played there that season, including a 60,063 person sell-out against Wolfsburg in the semi-final.
Arsenal’s average attendance in the WSL across the 2024/25 season was 34,110, a number higher than 10 Premier League clubs.
All WSL games will be played at the Emirates in 2025/26, along with all UWCL knock-out games. From 2025/26, the UWCL will be played in the new Champions League format, with 18 teams – two more than the current ‘group stage’. Teams will face six different opponents, three at home and three away. Arsenal will begin their defence of the trophy at Meadow Park in the league phase before moving to the Emirates should they advance to the knock-outs.
Domestic cup fixtures – FA Cup and League Cup – will still be played at Meadow Park
Richard Garlick, Arsenal Managing Director, said: “[The] announcement is another bold step forward. It’s an opportunity to create a special home for our team and allow more opportunities for our community, and a new generation of supporters to watch the European champions. … We keep moving forward together, and we’ll continue to fuel and inspire each other.”
Renée Slegers, Head Coach since January, said: “For us, this is just the beginning, and bringing every WSL match to the Emirates is another step for more supporters to be part of this special journey. We’ll come back next season, with fire in our hearts, more determined, more ambitious, and more together than ever.”
Additionally, domestic cup fixtures – FA Cup and League Cup – will still be played at Meadow Park.
Arsenal Women Supporters’ Club said, “We are delighted to hear that all WSL home games will be played at Emirates Stadium next season. This allows more people than ever to experience a WSL matchday and help Arsenal to build on the success we achieved in Lisbon. We are also excited that Meadow Park will still be used for cup games. We’ve experienced some great times at Meadow Park and look forward to cheering on the team from the North Bank next season.”
