University of Warwick named amongst top 30 ‘most international’ universities in the world
The University of Warwick has ranked 27th on Times Higher Education’s 2025 list of “the world’s most international universities”, based on data from its World University Rankings.
The ranking highlights Warwick’s influence on an international scale and its reputation for excellent research and world-class teaching.
In 2025, the University of Warwick celebrated its 60th anniversary, with a student base that is 38% international, coming from 115 countries.
The university not only has a diverse student base, but also a diverse staff community, with over 40% of staff being international.

Zabir, first-year international student from Bangladesh
Zabir, a first-year international student from Bangladesh, spoke to The Boar about diversity in the University of Warwick.
He told The Boar: “Being a full-fledged campus university, diversity is a unique element at Warwick”. He highlighted the university’s broad appeal, from Europe to the Middle East, stating his experience was enhanced by the range of cultures.
He added: “Whether it be in the classroom or society events, different cultures come together, share their stories, and ultimately learn from and embrace one another”.
As higher education standards increase on a global scale, the University of Warwick has remained “committed” to advance and improve on its diversity.
To meet these standards, the university partnered with various countries including South Africa, Australia, India, China, Singapore, and Indonesia.

The University of Warwick further enhanced its diversity by becoming a founding member of the EUTOPIA European University Alliance.

Professor Michael Scott, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International), stated: “We are growing the variety of global education opportunities on offer to our students. And we collaborate in ever more comprehensive ways with leading institutions around the globe.
Between 2020-2024, our researchers delivered 187 externally funded projects with global partners; and in 2024 alone over 7,000 of our students took part in an international education opportunity.”
