Police and air ambulance called over “medical incident” at Cryfield Townhouses
Police and emergency services including an air ambulance were called to campus today after an incident in Cryfield Townhouses.
Police and ambulance services were seen on campus from around 2pm today (Thursday 27 February). A Boar reporter counted two ambulances and two police cars, as well as an air ambulance which landed on the sports pitches to the south of Cryfield.
Police were on campus until 6pm. Community Safety were also at the scene.
A University spokesperson told The Boar: “Emergency services have been on campus at Cryfield this afternoon responding to a medical incident involving a member of staff. You may notice further activity this evening.
“Please be assured there are no ongoing concerns to our wider Warwick Community.”
In a message posted to the University staff hub, students with concerns were advised to contact the wellbeing team through the wellbeing portal, or by calling 024 765 75570, or by speaking to their personal tutor.
One student living in the same building as the incident was given a spare room in the same block while police carried out work. The student told The Boar: “ I was evicted today, and they gave me this spare room as well, which was quite nice.”
West Midlands Police were approached for comment.
