Remember, remember: Where can students watch fireworks this Bonfire Night?

It’s that time of year again when the air gets colder, the clocks go back, and Warwick sees a multitude of events commemorating Bonfire Night.

Every 5 November, Brits gather to commemorate the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605, led by Robert Catesby, who was born in Warwickshire, and involving the most famous of the plotters, Guy Fawkes.

Traditionally celebrated with bonfires, fireworks, and festivities, the evening lights up autumn skies across the UK. For students looking to join in the excitement, there are various bonfire and firework displays in the Warwick area, with all the details needed listed below:

Canley, Coventry

Where: Old Coventrians Rugby Club, Tile Hill Lane, Coventry, CV4 9DP

When: Saturday 2 November

Details: This is a fundraising event for Old Coventrians Rugby Club. Doors will open at 5pm, with a bonfire being lit at 6:30pm followed by a firework display at 7:30pm. Food and drink stands will be available too.

Tickets cost £7.50 per adult and are available online. [Sold out]

Coventry

Where: Coventry Rugby Fireworks Night – Butts Park Arena, Butts Road, Coventry, CV1 3GE

When: Saturday 2 November

Details: Doors open at 3pm, with a Take That tribute band playing at 5pm and fireworks kicking off at 7:30pm. There are hot food stands as well as open bars.

Tickets are £10 per adult.

Kenilworth

Where: Fireworks Gala in the grounds of Kenilworth Castle, Castle Road, Kenilworth, CV8 1NG

When: Saturday 2 November

Details: With the scenic backdrop of Kenilworth Castle, the largest firework display in Warwickshire is back for another year. Gates will open at 5:30pm, with tickets at £14 per adult, only available online.

Leamington Spa

Where: Hilltop Farm, Fosse Way, Hunningham, Leamington, CV33 9EL

When: Saturday 2 November

Details: The event kicks off at 4pm, giving attendees the time to relax or explore. Live music from Hannah Woof will start from 5.30pm. The bonfire will be lit around 6pm with the highlight of the evening, the fireworks display, expected to begin at 7pm. There is also a wide range of drinks and food available.

Leamington Rugby Club

Where: Leamington Rugby Club, Moorefield, Kenilworth Road, Leamington, CV32 6RG

When: Tuesday, 5 November

The gates will open at 5.30pm with the firework display kicking off at 7.30pm. It’s an easy bus from campus interchange or Parade Street Leamington, with the U1 and U2 both stopping outside.

Tickets cost £20 per car, and £5 on foot, and can be bought cash only on the gate.
