BREAKING: Bus crashes on A46 en route to Warwick campus
After receiving photographic evidence, The Boar understands a U1 bus has crashed on the A46 en route to campus at around 9am this morning.
The bus appears to have dismounted the carriageway and come to a halt perpendicular to the road.
After getting off the bus, students appear to have been left stranded by a slip road. The Boar understands that nobody was injured.
The police have since cornered off the bus with tape, and three lanes have been merged into one. There was standstill traffic for up to 10 minutes.
Dante Penna, a fourth-year student at the University of Warwick and a passenger on the bus, told The Boar: “It felt like we were driving on a slant, and I could tell that we weren’t on the road anymore.”
He added: “No one was injured. Road work people were helpful as they checked up on everyone. We were on the grass patch for about 10 minutes, and then the bus driver waved down another U1, and then we jumped on that bus to go to campus.”
The Boar is looking for any witnesses, and more updates will follow shortly. Any updates on the story can be sent to news@theboar.org
