University of Warwick hosts events for Birmingham Tech Week

The University of Warwick hosted events as part of Birmingham Tech Week, a festival that brought over 30 sessions and 150 speakers together.

Warwick ran two events for the week encompassing 16-20 October: a session on the ‘mobility revolution’ at the National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC) and a networking dinner for leaders and policymakers in the technology sector.

The festival was organised by Tech WM, a non-profit organisation working to raise the profile of the West Midlands technology sector. Warwick is Tech WM’s Founding Academic Patron.

Tech WM’s CEO, Yiannis Maos MBE, commented: “I’m delighted that the University of Warwick is a sponsor of Birmingham Tech Week in the way they are, and this builds on their patronage of Tech WM.”

The West Midlands region hosts a total of 6,000 companies, with a network of over 38,000 people who all contribute over £15 billion to the UK’s economy.
