Warwick Students’ Union announces more bus drivers and faster buses
After complaints of slow service and infrequent buses, Chalton Sayer, the Welfare and Campaigns Officer for the University of Warwick’s Students’ Union, has been working with Stagecoach to improve services.
In a statement on their website, the SU said: “Stagecoach have undertaken monitoring exercises in the week commencing 17 January to see how services have been operating, following the feedback that has been received. They are now aware of the long wait times, timetabling issues, and lack of buses at peak times.”
The online post described how “driver absences due to Covid” and “police activity” is partly to blame for the massive disruptions.
New measures that are being implemented by Stagecoach include recruiting 80 new drivers, and specifically doubling the number of POP! Buses on a Wednesday night.
This is a breaking news story and will be updated when there is more information.
