BREAKING: SHERBOURNE INCIDENT WITH EMERGENCY OFFICERS ON SITE

An incident has occurred in Sherbourne residences on the University of Warwick Campus. 

The Community Safety Team and the emergency services are at the site.

The University of Warwick released a statement, which said: “We’re aware of an ongoing incident at Sherbourne. Our community team is on site and is working with the emergency services.

“Alternative accommodation and food is being provided to students in the accommodation block and wellbeing support is available to those affected

“Please make yourself known to wellbeing support services (024 7657 5570) and residential life teaming you need any type of support or assistance.

“You can also contact the Community safety Tea 24/7 on 024 7652 2083.”

Police were called to the scene of the incident at, 4:32pm, where a 19-year-old man was reportedly stabbed.

He was taken to hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening, according to Warwickshire Police.

Two individuals have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and 18-year-old from Kings Langley, Hertfordshire and an 18-year-old woman from London.

The police are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 276 of 17 November 2021.
