Why you should join Yoga
Yoga is often associated with relieving stress, but the benefits stretch much further than this. Club secretary Zainab Rahme serenely explains why you should join Warwick Yoga…
Join yoga for your mind: to calm you and teach you how to deal with stress
Throughout university, and life in general, we all inevitably have points when we have to deal with stress. Yoga is incredibly relaxing and helps calm your mind and body, helping you to breeze through even the most stressful situations.
Join yoga for your body: to get fit and flexible
Yoga can be a great workout and helps to keep your body at its healthiest; both in terms of strength and flexibility. Our yoga classes are much cheaper than classes outside of university, so seize this opportunity to learn cool poses that will impress your friends!
Join yoga to heal: to prevent workout injuries and soothe body aches
Stretching after exercising is essential to prevent injuries. If you practice another sport or workout, yoga will equip you with an array of poses to help your body heal. For the non sporty, yoga helps ease that back cramp you feel from sitting in front of a laptop all day.
Join yoga to make friends: to meet likeminded undergrads and postgrads
Yoga is full of friendly, lovely people, who are generally quite chilled and relaxed. It’s a great way to meet likeminded people who also have a love of fitness and know the importance of maintaining your wellbeing.
Join yoga to push your limits everyday: there’s always a new goal
There will always be a new impressive skill to learn or master, whether it’s a handstand or advanced backbend. Whilst yoga can be a casual sport to take at a relaxed pace, it also contains many new ways to push your limits every day.
