Why you should join Lacrosse
Warwick Lacrosse go big on everything, from fielding seven teams to raising thousands of pounds for charity. Marketing and Communications Secretary Ellanna Morrison tells us why you should join her club…
We’re a mixed-gender club
Warwick Lacrosse is unique here as it incorporates men’s, women’s and mixed teams all into one club. This means that we’re especially sociable and creates lasting friendships that go way beyond your time at Warwick.
We have teams for everyone
With seven teams there’s somewhere for everyone to play. Only 15-20% of our club have ever played lacrosse before coming to Warwick, so the majority start out as novices. With two men’s and women’s development teams to foster your entry into lacrosse while providing competitive experience, you’ll never feel left behind.
We have the best socials
It’s no exaggeration to say we host some of the best socials. From our infamous Fresher’s Circle in Kelsey’s, to our annual Alumni Ball and Charity Beer Pong Tournament, having fun is what we do best. In Warwick Lacrosse you’ll get the social university experience you always dreamed of.
We have three tours per year
We love Tour. Warwick Lax holds three tours every year from domestic to international locations. Our Mini-Tour in January is always a mystery, so you don’t know where you’re going until you’re there! It’s a fun, affordable way to travel with friends and you’ll leave with memories to cherish forever.
We raise money for charity
Last year we raised over £4,000 for The Meningitis Research Foundation through a variety of charity activities and events including running the 12-mile Tough Mudder obstacle course. In term three we host an annual ‘Thursday Night Lacrosse’ (TNL) tournament which is open to the whole university raising money for charity.
