Boar Sport Club Files: Men’s Cricket
“Cover drives, drinking pints, good times”
Advice for incoming freshers
First year is the best year to take advantage of the touring opportunities we can offer! In the last two years we have run two-week cricket tours during the Easter holidays to Barbados and South Africa respectively, and we fully expect to run an international tour for the third year running (keep an eye on our social media for updates on this).
Targets for next season
To instigate the ‘new brand’ of cricket as promised by the incoming President… A promotion or two wouldn’t go amiss alongside that.

Biggest social event
Our yearly Cricket Ball; a black-tie event which in the last two years has had Matthew Hoggard and Paul Nixon as our guest speakers. Alumni cross the country to return specifically for the event, and the night out afterwards never fails to disappoint.

Charity
We have our own Coaching in Schools programme, where we visit local primary schools to coach cricket where otherwise they would not be introduced to the sport. We also run half-marathons and partake in blood donations in support of the British Heart Foundation.
