Warwick breaks into world’s 100 top universities for reputation

Warwick ranks 88th among the 100 most highly regarded universities across the world marking its first entry into the rankings, according to the Times Higher Education World University Reputation Rankings, published on Thursday.

The 2015 rankings were calculated based on the results of an invitation-only academic opinion survey sent to published scholars around the world.

Responses to the questionnaire were taken from a sample of scholars from different countries and disciplines, and asked the scholars to rank the universities they regarded most highly for research excellence.

This year’s rankings saw 12 UK universities in the top 100, up from 10 last year with the latest additions of the Universities of Warwick and Durham. This placed the UK as home to the second-highest number of top 100 universities, following the US, according to the Times.

The only two non-American institutions to place in the top 10 this year were the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

Harvard University in Boston remains unseated at the top spot for its fourth year.
