CARTOON CORNER: #HeForShe

Emma Watson’s speech at the UN Womens’ conference marked an historical moment in feminist discourse as she launched the new #HeForShe campign, encouraging men to become actively involved in the fight for womens’ rights. However Emma, within her speech, focusses on a definition of feminism that emphasises mutual gender equality and offers examples, like that expressed in that cartoon, of some of the ways in which men are also unequal.
