Bebe elected as new welfare and campaigns officer

Bebe Husakova has been elected as the new welfare and campaigns officer for 2014/15.

The third-year Philosophy student fought off competition from Shadi Brazell, Bebe Husakova and Sarah Witt. She will take over from Cat Turhan, the current welfare and campaigns officer, later this year in August.

Ms Husakova was elected with a total of 1,885 votes. Very emotional after her election, she told the Copper Rooms: “Thank you so much … I can’t believe it. It was such a tough journey.”

Ms Husakova, a former student mentor, plans to “lobby the council for a pedestrian crossing at Cannon Park”.
