Erin Davies takes education
**Erin Davies will be education officer next year, beating current education officer James Entwistle.**
The contest was extremely close with Ms Davies only winning by 130 votes.
Fourth-year Ms Davies, who also chairs Union Council, campaigned for an improved library, online, quality feedback and improving the situation for postgraduates.
In her speech, she said: “This week has been the hardest, most stressful week. I’ve loved every minute of it.”
Ms Davies won 2488 votes and Mr Entwistle received 2358.
Mr Entwistle ran with the slogan of “let’s finish the job”. He hoped to push academic feedback turnaround to three weeks, campaign for smaller seminar sizes and increase e-learning.
The education officer coordinates with the SSLC system, liaises with the University on academic services and runs campaigns on education-related issues. The education officer also acts as deputy president.
