International Aid Forum comes to Warwick
Warwick Hub is to host the first ever Warwick International Aid Forum (WIAF) on Saturday 2 February.
The event is to include speakers from charities such as Results UK, Homeless International and War on Want, and workshops by Oxfam, the New Internationalist and Giving What We Can.
Lectures and panel discussions will take place throughout the day in order to encourage debate and analysis of recent world events.
The aim of the forum is to increase awareness and understanding of international issues; introducing these issues to a wider audience.
The event is directed at both those who already have a substantial degree of knowledge about international aid and equally those who know very little.
“Attendees will be introduced to a range of current issues surrounding international aid and encouraged to engage in a lively debate throughout the day,” said Frances Ellis, coordinator of WIAF.
“We’ll be hearing from a variety of perspectives; from Oxfam’s Duncan Green to journalist Jonathon Foreman.
“The day will have a very interactive element, with workshops hosted by the New Internationalist, Oxfam and Giving What We Can, as well as a short film screening and a panel discussion focusing on ‘Our Problem, Their Problem or No Problem?’ at the end of the day.”
WIAF will take place in the Sciences building, with registration at 10.30am and the first talk starting at 11am.
Tickets cost £5 and will gain you entry for the entire day. Lunch and refreshments are included.
The tickets can be purchased here.
