Two stabbed outside Kasbah

Two teenagers were stabbed outside Kasbah Nightclub in Coventry on Boxing Day night.

The club, which is popular amongst Warwick students during term-time, was closed early by police as the two 19-year-olds were taken to hospital.

The pair’s injuries are said not to be life-threatening but one was still being treated on Friday, according to the Coventry Telegraph.

An 18-year-old from Tile Hill has been questioned and bailed.

West Midlands Police said: “We attended in the early hours of December 27. Two people had suffered stab wounds and were taken to hospital.

“We’re following up a number of lines of inquiry and examining CCTV footage of the night. We want to appeal to anyone with information or who saw the incident to contact us.”

A spokesperson for Kasbah said: “It is the first incident we have had of this nature in the 18 years of the Kasbah.

“The conduct of our security staff in handling the situation was praised by the police who attended. The safety and security of our customers is our number one priority. We’re giving every assistance to the police.”

However, many took to Twitter to criticise the club. One tweet read: “@KasbahCoventry so not only are your security staff, rude, ignorant, arrogant, it would appear they are also terrible at there job.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
